A New Year provides a new opportunity to improve your eating habits! Kick start your healthy eating routine by adding three new meal options to your recipe book with help from Suzanne Farrell, MS, RDN. On Wednesday, January 16, Suzanne will demonstrate how to prepare three healthy meals to get you through the day. She will provide tasty and filling recipes, plus helpful tips for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests will: Learn how to make three delicious and nutritious recipes Hear Suzanne’s tips for a healthy New Year Be motivated to create new, healthy meals for the whole year Samples will be provided and fun giveaways will be available throughout the event! Every attendee will receive a complimentary Sprouts reusable shopping bag and a Sprouts Brand product. This is a family-friendly event. Printed tickets are not required for attendance. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. About the Speaker: Suzanne Farrell MS, RDN, is the owner of Cherry Creek Nutrition, Inc. She is the nutrition coach on KWGN CW2’s Daybreak, a regular radio guest and a former spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as the Colorado Dietetic Association. She started Cherry Creek Nutrition, Inc. in 2002 and her passion is to share nutrition knowledge and experience to help others make practical, personalized and doable lifestyle changes. Her philosophy is to combine nutrition science with the art of living a happy and healthy life.
Impact Dinner at Comal - January 2019

For Comal's January 2019 Impact Dinner, Executive Chef Tim Bender will partner with guest chef Sara Gebre on a three-course, family-style Ethiopian meal complete with wine and cocktail pairings.  General admission tickets are now on sale for $75 per person. Tickets are all-inclusive of the meal with specialty beverage pairings by Kevin Galaba of Friends and Family, a nonprofit organization serving Colorado’s restaurant industry employees. We are thankful for The Infinite Monkey Theorem for graciously sponsoring us.  Additionally, four elevated Chef’s Counter tickets are available for $100 per person, providing VIP guests with exclusive beverages and gourmet dishes featuring seasonal delicacies. The elevated, family-style meal will consist of:  Appetizers Sambusa, filled pockets of scratch made dough, filled with homeade stewed lentils. Pasti, a savory fried dough. Non Alcoholic Mead, a fermented honey beverage. Mains  All main dishes will be served with an array of garnishes including: house made cottage cheese, collard green stew, fried green beans with carrots, potato, and a traditional tomato sauce. Also, on top of Injera, a fermented teff flour flat sponge bread.  Berbere Spiced Chicken Stew. Beef Stew with tumeric (Siga Alicha). Dessert Housemade Carrot Cake, the best and most traditional way to end the meal.  Ethiopian Coffee served with sugared popcorn and roasted nuts. Focus Points Family Resource Center, the nonprofit parent behind Comal, and Friends and Family, a nonprofit organization comprised of, and designed to serve, Colorado's hospitality industry employees, have partnered to host this special event. All proceeds will benefit Focus Points and Friends and Family.

Join Walsall Council's Community, Equality and Cohesion Team at one of two procurement sessions regarding Walsall’s Integrated Areas Programme (Walsall for All). The session will provide an opportunity for service providers to find out about the Programme, how your organisation can get involved in the project, register with In-tend (Walsall Council Procurement Portal) which will give you access to funding opportunities which will be available. The procurement information sessions will take place at the following venues: Wednesday 23rd January at The Crossing at St. Paul's (Darwall St, Walsall WS1 1DA) between 10am and 12pm. Monday 28th January at Frank F Harrison Community Association (Stephenson Square, Walsall WS2 7DY) between 5pm and 7pm.  Please note that there is no expectation to stay for the whole duration of the session.
